Starting from the Nelson i-SITE Visitor Information Centre at 74 Trafalgar Street, head south on Trafalgar Street towards the intersection with Collingwood Street. Turn left onto Collingwood Street and continue for about 400 meters until you reach the intersection with Hardy Street. Turn right onto Hardy Street and walk for another 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Nile Street. Turn left onto Nile Street, continuing for approximately 700 meters until you reach the intersection with Waimea Road. Cross Waimea Road to continue on Nile Street, which will become The Wood. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers, and you will see The Wanderer on your right at the coordinates P7RW+GP, The Wood, Nelson 7010.

From the Nelson Bus Station located at 24 Bridge Street, catch the bus heading towards the Richmond Route. You will want to board the bus that has stops along Waimea Road. Inform the driver you wish to get off at The Wood.
