Car
If you are driving from Queenstown, take State Highway 6 towards Cromwell. After approximately 28 km, take the exit for State Highway 8 towards Alexandra. Continue on this road for about 10 km until you reach Bannockburn. Turn onto Felton Road, and the Bannockburn Sluicings Historic Reserve will be on your left at 143 Felton Road. There is no entry fee to access the reserve.

To reach Bannockburn Sluicings Historic Reserve via public transport, take a bus from Queenstown to Cromwell. The bus ride takes around 45 minutes. Once in Cromwell, you will need to take a taxi to Bannockburn, as there aren't direct bus services to the Sluicings. The taxi ride from Cromwell to Bannockburn is approximately 15 km and will cost around NZD 30-40 depending on the taxi company.

If you are already in Bannockburn, you can reach the Sluicings by walking. From the center of Bannockburn, head south on Felton Road. The reserve is located 1.5 km down the road. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and take water, as the terrain can be uneven in places.

Biking to Bannockburn Sluicings is another great option. If you are starting from Cromwell, take the scenic route via the Lake Dunstan Trail for a beautiful ride. This route is approximately 20 km one way. Ensure you have a suitable bike, helmet, and water for the journey.
