If you are starting from the Timaru city center, head south on Stafford Street towards the intersection with Strathearn Street. Turn left onto Strathearn Street and continue walking for about 10 minutes. You will reach the waterfront area, where you can follow the coastline path south towards Caroline Bay. As you walk, you will pass several parks and playgrounds. Continue along the coastal path until you see the large sign that marks the entrance to Caroline Bay.

From the Timaru city center, find the nearest bus stop and take the local bus that heads towards Caroline Bay. Buses usually run every 30 minutes. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the Caroline Bay stop. The stop is located near the entrance to the bay, and from there, you can easily walk to the beach area and surrounding attractions.

For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local shop in Timaru. Start at the city center and head south on Stafford Street. Follow the same route as if you were walking, but on a bike, you can take a more direct route through the streets leading towards the waterfront.
