    From Greymouth, head south on State Highway 6. Continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Hokitika. In Hokitika, take a left onto State Highway 73 and follow the signs for Hokitika Gorge. After about 20 kilometers, look for the entrance to Hokitika Gorge Scenic Reserve on your right. There is a parking area available.

    From Greymouth, take the bus to Hokitika. The bus service usually operates multiple times a day. Once you arrive in Hokitika, you will need to take a taxi or arrange a shuttle to Hokitika Gorge, as public transport may not cover the last stretch. It is approximately a 20-kilometer drive from Hokitika to the gorge.

  • Car

    If you're coming from Franz Josef Glacier, take State Highway 6 north towards Hokitika. After about 95 kilometers, you will reach Hokitika. From there, take a right onto State Highway 73 and follow for about 20 kilometers until you see the entrance to Hokitika Gorge on your right. Make sure to park in the designated area.

    From Westport, take State Highway 67 south to reach State Highway 6. Turn right onto State Highway 6 and continue south until you reach Hokitika. Once in Hokitika, turn left onto State Highway 73 and proceed for about 20 kilometers until you see Hokitika Gorge on your right.
