If you're driving from Hokitika, head south on State Highway 6. Continue on this highway for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs for Glow Worm Dell. Look for a small parking area on the right side of the highway. Park your car here. The entrance to Glow Worm Dell is a short walk from the parking area. Follow the walking track that leads you into the forest.

Take a bus from Hokitika to the nearest stop that services State Highway 6. The bus service may not run frequently, so check the local schedule ahead of time. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer back towards Glow Worm Dell. Look for the entrance on the left side of the highway and follow the walking track into the forest.
