From Whangarei city center, head to the bus station located at 2 James Street. Take the 'Kawakawa' bus operated by the Northland Bus Company. Ensure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Kawakawa, disembark at the main bus stop on SH1. From there, walk towards Gillies Street; it's a short 5-minute walk (about 400 meters). Head east on Gillies Street, and you will find the Hundertwasser Public Toilets at Nilsson Building, 62 Gillies Street, directly ahead.

If you are already in Kawakawa, you can easily walk to the Hundertwasser Public Toilets. Start at the Kawakawa Information Centre located at 3 Gillies Street. Head east on Gillies Street for about 600 meters. The toilets are located at 62 Gillies Street, adjacent to the Nilsson Building. It should take you approximately 10 minutes to walk there.
