Public Transport (Bus)
Start at the Whangarei Bus Station, located on Bank Street. Take the 'Kamo' bus route. Make sure to check the current schedule, as buses run every hour. The ride to the closest stop to Kawiti Glowworm Caves will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Waiomio Road' stop. From there, walk down Waiomio Road for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance to the Kawiti Glowworm Caves at 49 Waiomio Road.

Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of the Whangarei CBD, you can walk to Kawiti Glowworm Caves. Start at the Town Basin and head north along the Hatea River walkway. Continue until you reach the intersection of Kamo Road. Turn left and follow Kamo Road until you reach the junction with Waiomio Road. Turn right onto Waiomio Road and continue for approximately 3.5 kilometers. The entrance to the caves will be on your left at 49 Waiomio Road. This walk will take around 1 hour and is a pleasant stroll with some beautiful views.
