From the Whangarei Town Basin, head north along the Hatea River on the Hatea Loop walkway. Continue walking until you reach the end of the loop, then turn right onto State Highway 1. Follow the highway for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Otaika Road. Turn left onto Otaika Road and continue for about 1 kilometer. Tarewa Park will be on your right, where the Tarewa Rainbow Sculpture is located.
