If you are in Whangarei city center, start at the Whangarei Art Museum located at 25 Rust Ave. Head east on Rust Ave towards the intersection with Bank St. Continue straight onto Bank St until you reach the intersection with James St. Turn left onto James St and proceed for about 600 meters. You will see a pedestrian crossing at the intersection with Otaika Rd. Cross Otaika Rd and continue walking straight. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will arrive at Tarewa Park. The Whangarei iSite Visitor Information Centre is located at 92 Otaika Road, within Tarewa Park.

From the Whangarei Bus Terminal located at 11 James St, board the bus heading towards Otaika Road. The bus service is generally available every 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Tarewa Park. Once you disembark, walk towards the park entrance. The Whangarei iSite Visitor Information Centre is located at 92 Otaika Road, within Tarewa Park.
