If you are starting from the Whangarei Town Basin, head south along the waterfront path. Follow the path until you reach the end of the basin. At the end, turn right onto Dent Street. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes. The Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery will be on your left at 81 Dent Street.

From the Whangarei Transport Centre (located at 19 Bank Street), take the local bus heading towards the Whangarei CBD. Get off at the stop on Dent Street, which is closest to the Hundertwasser Art Centre. From there, it’s a short walk (about 2 minutes) to 81 Dent Street – just head straight down Dent Street and you will see the centre on your left.
