Walking
If you are starting from the Whangarei Art Museum located at 7a Reyburn Street, exit the museum and turn left onto Reyburn Street. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with the main road, Bank Street. Turn right onto Bank Street and continue walking for about 600 meters. You will pass various shops and cafes on your way. When you reach the intersection with Quayside, turn left. The Whangarei Sun Dial is located at 32 Quayside, just a short 200-meter walk from the intersection. You should see the Sun Dial on your right.

If you are near the Whangarei Town Basin, you can catch a local bus that operates along Quayside. Head towards the nearest bus stop located at the Town Basin. Board the bus that is heading towards the city center and ask the driver to let you off at Quayside. From the bus stop, walk a short distance towards 32 Quayside. The Whangarei Sun Dial will be visible as you approach.

If you have access to a bike, start from the Whangarei Town Basin. Head southeast along the waterfront path that runs parallel to the Hatea River. Follow this path until you reach the end, where you will see Quayside. Turn right onto Quayside and continue riding for about 500 meters. The Whangarei Sun Dial will be located on your left at 32 Quayside.
