Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from the center of Masaya. Head southwest on Calle 1 until you reach the intersection with Calle 2, then turn left onto Calle 2. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the main road (Carretera Masaya). Turn right onto the Carretera Masaya and follow the signs for Volcán Masaya National Park. The entrance to the park is about 10 km from Masaya, and you will need to pay an entrance fee of around $10 per vehicle. Once inside the park, follow the signs to the viewpoint for Volcán Masaya, which is approximately 5 km from the entrance.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Volcán Masaya using public transportation, head to the Masaya bus terminal. Look for a bus heading to the town of Masaya or directly to Volcán Masaya National Park. Buses typically run every 30 minutes and the fare is around $1. The bus will take you to the entrance of the park. Once you arrive, you may have to walk about 500 meters to reach the visitor center. From there, you can join a guided tour or hike to the viewpoints of Volcán Masaya.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Masaya. This can be arranged from your hotel or by calling a local taxi service. The fare to Volcán Masaya should be around $10-15 one way, depending on your starting location in Masaya. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of the national park, where you can pay the entrance fee and start your visit.
