Walking
From the center of Masaya, head west on Calle 2 until you reach Parque Central. At the park, take the road heading south, Calle 4, and continue until you reach the intersection with Carretera Masaya. Turn left onto Carretera Masaya and walk for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see signs for Apoyo Lagoon Natural Reserve on your right. Follow the signs to the entrance.

From Parque Central in Masaya, locate the bus station (Estación de buses) near the park. Look for a bus that says 'Apoyo' or 'Laguna de Apoyo'. These buses run frequently and will take you directly to the entrance of the Apoyo Lagoon Natural Reserve. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Be sure to tell the driver your destination when you board.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops around Parque Central. Head west on Calle 2, then south on Calle 4 until you reach Carretera Masaya.
