Bus
From the center of Masaya, head to the main bus terminal (Terminal de Buses de Masaya) located at the intersection of Calle 1 and Avenida 2. Look for a bus that goes to Granada, as it will take you close to Apoyo Lagoon. The bus fare is usually around 20-30 Nicaraguan córdobas. The ride should take about 30 minutes. Make sure to tell the bus driver or conductor that you are going to Apoyo Lagoon, and they will help you know when to get off.

Walking
Once you arrive at the stop on the highway where the bus drops you off (it will be near the entrance to Apoyo Lagoon), look for signs leading to the lagoon. You will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer down a dirt road. Follow the path that goes downhill towards the lagoon. Be cautious as the path can be steep and uneven in places. After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you should arrive at the entrance to the Apoyo Lagoon Natural Reserve.

If you prefer a quicker option after taking the bus to the highway, you can hire a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) which is available near the bus drop-off point. Agree on a fare before starting your ride; it typically costs around 50-100 córdobas, depending on your negotiation skills. The moto-taxi will take you directly to the entrance of the Apoyo Lagoon Natural Reserve, which will save you the walking distance.
