Breathtaking Heights at Craggy Pinnacle Summit

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by navigating to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance off of US-19/US-23. Head north on the Parkway and take the exit for Craggy Gardens (Milepost 364). Follow the signs to the Craggy Gardens parking area. There is no fee to park here. From the parking area, take the Craggy Pinnacle Trail, which is a well-marked 1.4-mile round trip hike to the summit.

• Public Transportation

  To use public transportation, you would first need to take a bus or shuttle from Asheville to the nearest stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Check local transit schedules to find a service that goes to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Once you arrive at a suitable stop, you will need to walk or hitch a ride to the Craggy Gardens parking area (Milepost 364). From there, follow the Craggy Pinnacle Trail to reach the summit. Be mindful of local transit schedules as they may not run frequently.

• Hiking

  Once you’ve parked at the Craggy Gardens parking area, follow the Craggy Pinnacle Trail. This trail is well-marked and features some steep sections but is manageable for most hikers. The trailhead is located right at the parking area, and it typically takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to reach the summit, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and carry water. At the summit, you will enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views.
