Getting There

Public Transit (Bus)
From the center of Bismarck, catch the #1 or #2 bus at the nearest bus stop. The buses run frequently, so you shouldn’t have to wait long. Ride towards Mandan, and you will need to get off at the stop closest to the intersection of State Avenue and 3rd Street. From there, transfer to the #3 bus towards Mandan. Stay on the bus until you reach the Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park stop. The park is located at 4480 Fort Lincoln Rd, Mandan, ND 58554. The total travel time should take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on wait times.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, start at the Bismarck Riverwalk. Head west on River Road and follow the paved path, which will take you along the Missouri River. Continue on the bike trail until you reach the intersection with State Avenue. Turn left onto State Avenue and ride towards Mandan. After about 2 miles, follow the signs directing you to Fort Lincoln Road. The park entrance will be on your right. The entire ride is approximately 6 miles and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace.

For a more adventurous journey on foot, start at the Bismarck Civic Center. Head west on E Main Ave toward 3rd St. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with State Avenue. Turn left onto State Avenue and follow this road as it leads you out of Bismarck and into Mandan. After about 2.5 miles, look for signs directing you to Fort Lincoln Road. The park entrance will be on your right. This walk is approximately 7 miles and will take roughly 2-3 hours, depending on your walking speed.
