Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the city center, head towards the harbor area. Start at the famous Bryggen Wharf, which is easy to locate. From Bryggen, walk towards the end of the wharf, and you will see a small street, called Dreggsallmenningen, leading up. Continue walking along this street for about 5 minutes, and you will find Bryggens Museum at Dreggsallmenningen 3. The museum is on your left, marked with a sign and its distinctive entrance.

  • Bus

    If you are further away, you can take a bus towards the city center. Look for bus stops marked with 'Bybanen' (light rail) or local buses. Get off at the 'Bergen busstasjon' stop. From there, exit the bus station, and head towards the harbor. Walk straight along the waterfront until you reach Bryggen. From Bryggen, follow the directions for walking mentioned above to reach Bryggens Museum.

    If you are near the Fløibanen funicular, take the funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen. Enjoy the views and then walk down the trail leading back to the city center. As you descend, follow signs towards Bryggen. Once you reach Bryggen Wharf, continue down Dreggsallmenningen as detailed in the walking directions above to arrive at Bryggens Museum.
