Bus
From Bodø city center, walk to the Bodø Bus Station, which is located at Storgata 1. Take the bus number 22 heading towards Kjerringøy. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to inform the bus driver you are going to Kjerringøy, as some buses may have limited stops. Once you arrive at Kjerringøy, disembark at the stop closest to Fylkesveg 571.
Ferry
From Bodø, you can also take a ferry to Kjerringøy. Head to the Bodø Ferry Terminal located at the waterfront near the city center. Look for the ferry service that goes to Kjerringøy, which typically operates several times a day. The ferry ride offers beautiful views and will take about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Kjerringøy, follow the signs to Fylkesveg 571, which is a short walk from the ferry terminal.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Bodø. Start your journey by heading west on Storgata, then continue on to Fylkesveg 571. The ride to Kjerringøy is approximately 20 kilometers and will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Follow the road signs, and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Be cautious of traffic, especially near busier roads.
Walking
If you enjoy hiking and have a good level of fitness, you can walk to Kjerringøy from Bodø. Start at the Bodø city center and follow the signs for Fylkesveg 571. The walk is quite long, approximately 20 kilometers, and will take around 4-5 hours. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks, as there are limited facilities along the route.
