Getting There

  • Car

    From Maumee Bay State Park, head southwest on S. Shoreline Dr. toward W. State Park Rd. Continue straight onto W. State Park Rd. for about 1 mile. Turn left onto OH-51 S (N. Summit St). After approximately 2 miles, take a slight right onto OH-2 W toward Toledo. Continue on OH-2 W for about 4 miles. Take the exit toward Downtown Toledo. Merge onto I-75 S and follow the signs for Toledo. Take exit 201B toward Front St. Merge onto Front St. The National Museum of the Great Lakes will be on your right at 1701 Front St, Toledo, OH 43605. Parking is available onsite.

    From Maumee Bay State Park, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to get to the nearest public transportation hub, which is the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) bus stop. Once you reach TARTA, take the Line 7 bus toward Downtown Toledo. The bus will take you directly to the downtown area. You will need to transfer to the Line 8 bus at the TARTA Transfer Center heading toward East Toledo. Get off the bus at the stop closest to Front St. Walk approximately 0.5 miles to the National Museum of the Great Lakes at 1701 Front St, Toledo, OH 43605.
