If you're driving, start from the center of Maumee Valley. Head east on Conant Street. After about 2 miles, merge onto I-80 W/I-90 W towards Toledo. Continue for approximately 5 miles. Take exit 201 for OH-25 N toward Perrysburg. Merge onto OH-25 N and continue for about 1.5 miles. Turn right onto E River Rd and follow this road for approximately 1 mile until you reach the entrance of Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve. There is no entrance fee for the preserve.

To reach Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve using public transportation, start at the nearest bus stop in Maumee. Take the TARTA (Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority) bus route that goes toward Toledo. You will have to transfer to another bus at the downtown Toledo transfer station to catch the route heading toward Perrysburg. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve. Make sure to check the TARTA schedule ahead of time for the latest routes and times. Bus fares typically cost around $1.50 per ride, so budget accordingly.

If you are feeling adventurous and want to cycle, start from the center of Maumee and take Conant Street north. Then, follow the bike paths towards the Maumee River. Once you reach the river, follow the riverside paths northward for about 5 miles until you reach Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve. This route is scenic but may take around 30-45 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
