If you're driving from central Maumee, head east on Conant St toward W Alexis Rd. Continue on Conant St for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto the ramp onto I-75 N. After 4 miles, take exit 203B for I-475 N toward Detroit. Continue on I-475 N for about 5 miles, then take exit 6 for US-20 W. After about 2 miles, turn left onto Audubon Islands Rd. Continue straight for 0.5 miles, and you will arrive at Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve.

The nearest bus stop to Audubon Islands is on US-20, which is approximately a 1-mile walk to the preserve from the bus stop. Be sure to check the TARTA schedule for the latest times and routes. There may be a small fare for the bus ride, typically around $1.50.

For the adventurous cyclist, you can bike from Maumee to Audubon Islands. Start on Conant St, then follow the bike paths along the river and connect to the bike lanes on I-475 North. The total distance is about 10 miles, so ensure you're prepared for the ride.
