Walking
Starting from the center of Bahla, head towards the main road (Bahla Street) that leads northwest out of the town. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction. At the junction, take a right onto the road heading towards Jabal Shams. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers. Keep an eye out for road signs indicating Jebel Shams, as the road will lead you to the foot of the mountain. Once you arrive at the base, there will be a marked trail leading up to the summit.

From Bahla, locate the nearest bus stop that has services to Nizwa. Take a bus heading to Nizwa; the journey should take about 30 minutes. Once in Nizwa, seek out the bus or shared taxi services heading towards Jebel Shams. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to the Jebel Shams area. The ride from Nizwa to the foot of Jebel Shams will take approximately 1 hour. From the drop-off point at the base, follow the marked trail leading to the summit.
