If you are traveling by car, start by getting on US-26 E from anywhere in the Cascade Range. Follow US-26 E for about 35 miles until you reach the junction with OR-7 N. Take the exit onto OR-7 N towards John Day. Continue on OR-7 N for approximately 42 miles. As you approach John Day, turn left onto W Main St. After a short drive, the Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site will be on your right at 125 NW Canton St, John Day, OR 97845.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus to John Day. Ensure to check the schedule in advance as service may be limited. Once you arrive at the John Day bus station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site, which is approximately 2 miles away.
