Car
If you are traveling by car, take I-84 East from Portland. After about 35 miles, take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Cascade Locks Highway (Highway 30). Continue straight for approximately 1 mile until you reach NE Frontage Rd. Turn right onto NE Frontage Rd and follow it for about 0.5 miles. The Elowah Falls Parking area will be on your left. Note that parking may require a fee, so bring cash or a credit card.
Public Transportation
To reach Elowah Falls via public transportation, take the Columbia Gorge Express bus from Portland. The bus departs from various locations in Portland, and you can check the schedule online. Get off at the Cascade Locks stop. From the bus stop, walk approximately 1 mile along Cascade Locks Highway (Highway 30) until you reach NE Frontage Rd. Turn right and continue for about 0.5 miles to reach the Elowah Falls Parking area. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, you can cycle from Cascade Locks to Elowah Falls. Start at the Cascade Locks city center and head west on Cascade Locks Highway (Highway 30). After about 1 mile, turn right onto NE Frontage Rd and follow it for another 0.5 miles to the parking area. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. There are bike racks available at the parking area.
Walking
If you are staying in Cascade Locks, you can walk to Elowah Falls Parking. Start from the Cascade Locks city center and head west on Cascade Locks Highway (Highway 30). After about 1 mile, turn right onto NE Frontage Rd and continue for approximately 0.5 miles. The parking area will be on your left. This is a scenic walk, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
