From downtown Hood River, head to the nearest bus stop for the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) service. Take the Route 1 bus heading toward Odell. You will need to get off at the stop near the intersection of Highway 35 and Wygant Trail. This stop is about a 10-minute walk from the Wygant State Natural Area trailhead. After exiting the bus, walk east along Wygant Trail, following the signs for Wygant State Natural Area, which will be on your left.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Hood River. Start at the corner of Oak Street and 1st Street, heading east on Oak Street. Follow the bike lane to the intersection with Highway 35. Turn left onto Highway 35 and continue for about 4 miles. Look for Wygant Trail on your right, where you can park your bike at the trailhead.
