From any point in Mount Hood National Forest, head towards Highway 26. Take Highway 26 East until you reach the junction with Highway 35. Merge onto Highway 35 North and continue for approximately 15 miles. Then, take the exit for I-84 East towards The Dalles. After about 10 miles, take exit 64 for Odell and turn left onto Wygant Trail. Follow Wygant Trail until you reach the parking area for Wygant State Natural Area. The total drive time is approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public transportation options are limited in this area. However, you can take the Columbia Gorge Express bus from Portland to Hood River. The bus operates several times daily and provides a scenic route through the Columbia River Gorge.
