Getting There

Public Bus
Start at the Hood River Transit Center located at 601 Oak Street. Take the Columbia Gorge Express bus towards Portland. Make sure to check the schedule for the latest departure times. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Stevenson stop. From the bus stop, walk east along NW 2nd Street until you reach WA-14. Then, walk north on WA-14 for about 1 mile until you see the entrance to Beacon Rock State Park on your left.

Rent a bike from one of the local bike shops in Hood River, such as Hood River Bicycles on 1st Street. From there, head south on 1st Street towards State Street. Turn right on State Street, which will lead you to the waterfront bike path. Follow the path westward along the Columbia River until you reach the bridge at Stevenson. Cross the bridge and continue on the bike path until you reach WA-14. Turn left, and after about a mile, you will find Beacon Rock State Park on your left.

If you prefer to walk, start at the Hood River waterfront area. Head west along the waterfront trail until you reach the bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue walking east along WA-14. It's approximately a 2-mile walk along the highway, so be cautious and stay on the sidewalk. After about 30-40 minutes, you will arrive at Beacon Rock State Park, which will be on your left.
