From downtown Hood River, walk to the nearest bus stop on 1st Street near Oak Street. Take the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) bus route 660 towards Cascade Locks. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Stevenson stop. From there, walk east on SW 1st Street, then turn right onto Hamilton Mountain Trail. Follow the trailhead signs for Hamilton Mountain Trailhead. It should be a short walk, about 0.5 miles.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from downtown Hood River and head south on Oak Street towards the waterfront. Follow the bike path along the Columbia River South Shore until you reach the bridge at Cascade Locks. Cross the bridge and continue on the bike path towards Stevenson, WA. Once you arrive in Stevenson, follow the signs for Hamilton Mountain Trail; the trailhead is about 1 mile from the bike path.
