Getting There

Walking
Start from downtown Hood River at 1st Street and Cascade Avenue. Head east on Cascade Avenue for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Oregon Route 30. Turn left (north) onto Route 30 and continue walking for approximately 3 miles. You will see signs for Oneonta Gorge as you approach the entrance. The entrance is located on the right side of the road. Please note that the entrance is gated, so be prepared for that.

Begin at the Hood River Waterfront Park. Head north on the scenic bike path along the Columbia River. Continue until you reach the intersection with Oregon Route 30. Turn left onto Route 30 and bike for about 3 miles. Look for the signs directing you to Oneonta Gorge on your right. Be mindful of bicycle traffic and road conditions as you approach the entrance, which is gated.

From downtown Hood River, catch the Columbia Area Transit bus towards The Dalles. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at the stop for Oneonta Gorge. This is approximately a 20-minute ride. Once you arrive, walk back a short distance to the entrance on Route 30. The entrance is gated, so please check if it is open before your visit.
