Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    Start at the Hood River Transit Center located at 601 Oak St, Hood River, OR 97031. Board the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) bus on Route 2 heading towards Cascade Locks. The bus should arrive approximately every hour, but be sure to check the schedule for exact times. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes, enjoying the scenic views along the Columbia River Gorge. Get off at the Cascade Locks stop, which is located near the entrance to the Historic Columbia River Highway. From the bus stop, walk north along the Historic Columbia River Highway for about 0.5 miles. You will see signs directing you to Starvation Creek State Park. The entrance to the park will be on your left.

    If you prefer to bike, rent a bike at one of the local shops in Hood River, such as Hood River Bicycles located at 1020 12th St, Hood River, OR 97031. From there, head east on Oak St and take a right onto 13th St, which will turn into the Historic Columbia River Highway. Follow this scenic highway for about 8 miles, enjoying the beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge. Look for the signs directing you to Starvation Creek State Park, which will be on your right side as you approach the park entrance.
