Public Transportation
From Hood River, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) Route 2 towards Mt. Hood. The bus will take you towards Parkdale. Make sure to check the schedule for departure times. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Parkdale stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles east on OR-35 until you reach the Tamanawas Falls trailhead entrance.
Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Hood River. Start your journey by heading south on Oak Street, then continue to the waterfront path along the Columbia River. Follow the path until you reach the intersection with OR-35. Turn left onto OR-35 and continue biking for about 10 miles until you reach the Tamanawas Falls trailhead. Be cautious as the road can be busy, and ensure you wear a helmet and follow traffic rules.
Hiking
For the adventurous, you can hike from Hood River to Tamanawas Falls. Begin at the Hood River Waterfront Park and follow the trails that connect to the Mt. Hood National Forest.
