Walking
Start at the Hood River Waterfront Park. Head east on Oak Street towards the Hood River Bridge. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto State Route 35. Continue walking along the route for approximately 1.5 miles. You will see signs for Cascade Locks. Once you reach the Cascade Locks area, follow the signs to Upper Oneonta Falls. The falls are located within the scenic areas near the Columbia River Gorge, and you may have to walk a short distance from the main road to reach them.
Biking
Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Hood River. Start at the Hood River Marina and head east on the Historic Columbia River Highway Trail. Follow the trail for about 2.5 miles until you reach Cascade Locks. Once you arrive in Cascade Locks, look for signs directing you to Upper Oneonta Falls. The biking trail is scenic and safe, providing beautiful views of the Columbia River as you ride.
Public Transit
From Hood River, take the Columbia Area Transit bus (#660) towards Cascade Locks. The bus stop is located near the Hood River Plaza. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Cascade Locks stop, follow the signs to Upper Oneonta Falls. Depending on where you get off, it may require a short walk to reach the falls.
