Car
If you're driving, head towards Tulelake, CA. From Klamath Falls, take Highway 39 North for approximately 25 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 97. Continue on Highway 97 North for about 5 miles, then turn onto Hill Road (County Road 100) heading west. Follow Hill Road for about 10 miles until you arrive at the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge entrance at 4009 Hill Rd, Tulelake, CA 96134. There’s no entry fee for the refuge.

Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited, but you can take a Greyhound bus from Klamath Falls to Tulelake. Check the schedule in advance as service may not be frequent. Once in Tulelake, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge, which is approximately 7 miles away. It’s advisable to contact local taxi services ahead of time to ensure availability.

Bicycle
For the adventurous, biking is an option. Start in Klamath Falls and follow the same route as driving via Highway 39 and Highway 97. Be sure to use caution as these highways can be busy. It’s about a 30-mile ride, so plan for ample time and bring along plenty of water and snacks. Once you reach Hill Road, you can bike directly to the refuge entrance.
