From Smith Rock State Park, head south on Smith Rock Way toward Highway 97. Turn right onto Highway 97 South and continue for approximately 15 miles. Merge onto Highway 26 East toward Prineville. Continue on Highway 26 for about 20 miles. As you approach Prineville, look for signs for Ochoco National Forest. Turn left onto NE 3rd St, then take a right onto NE Elm St, which merges into Forest Road 27. Follow this road into the forest area. The main entrance to Ochoco National Forest is located at approximately 44.3308° N, 120.2825° W. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited services once you enter the forest.
