Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Joseph, OR, head east on OR-82 E for approximately 8 miles. Look for a sign indicating the turnoff for Wallowa Lake Highway. Turn left onto Wallowa Lake Highway and continue for about 5 miles until you reach the Wallowa Lake area. From the Wallowa Lake area, follow signs for the Indian Crossing Trailhead, which is accessible from the Wallowa Lake Road. After turning onto Wallowa Lake Road, continue for about 3 miles until you see the Indian Crossing Trailhead parking area on your left. Be aware that there may be a parking fee, so have some cash ready.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus from La Grande or another nearby city to Joseph, OR. Once in Joseph, you can either rent a car or check local taxi services to cover the remaining distance to Indian Crossing Trailhead. The total distance is approximately 13 miles. If you prefer not to drive, it's advisable to contact local shuttle services in advance to arrange a ride to the trailhead, as public transport options may be limited.
