Getting there

Car

If you are driving from Karimabad, the capital of Hunza Valley, head south on the KKH (Karakoram Highway) for about 30 km. You will pass through the scenic landscapes of the valley. Continue until you reach the junction of N-15. Turn right onto N-15, which will take you towards Mansehra. After approximately 10 km, you will arrive at the Causeway, which is located at the coordinates 35.1070309, 73.9779619. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for the mountainous terrain, especially if you plan to explore further.

Public Bus

From Karimabad, take a local bus to Gilgit city. This journey takes about 2 hours. Once in Gilgit, transfer to a bus heading towards Mansehra. The bus fare from Karimabad to Gilgit is approximately PKR 500, and from Gilgit to Mansehra, it will cost around PKR 600. After reaching Mansehra, you can hire a taxi or a rickshaw to get to the Causeway, which is about 10 km away. The taxi fare should be around PKR 300-400.

Taxi

If you prefer a more comfortable ride, you can hire a taxi directly from your hotel in Karimabad to take you to Causeway. The journey will take about 1 hour and will cost approximately PKR 2500-3000. This option is ideal if you are traveling in a group or with family, as it provides flexibility to stop along the way and enjoy the views.

Motorbike Rental

For the adventurous traveler, renting a motorbike in Karimabad can be a fun way to explore the area. Several rental shops offer bikes for about PKR 1000-1500 per day. Follow the same route as cars by heading south on the KKH, then turn onto N-15. Ensure you wear a helmet and drive cautiously, as the roads can be challenging.
