Car
If you are driving from Leh town, take the road towards Namgyal Hill. The palace is located at the top of the hill. The distance is approximately 2 kilometers from the city center. Follow the signs for Leh Palace as you ascend the hill. There is limited parking available near the entrance of the palace.
Public Transportation (Shared Taxi)
From Leh town, you can hire a shared taxi to Namgyal Hill. Head to the local taxi stand, usually located near the main market area. The fare is typically around 50-100 INR per person, depending on the number of passengers. Inform the driver that you want to go to Leh Palace, and they will drop you off at the base of the hill. You will need to walk the remaining distance up to the palace.
Walking
If you are staying in Leh town, consider walking to Leh Palace for a scenic experience. Start from the Leh Main Market and head towards the direction of Namgyal Hill. The walk is approximately 30 minutes and will take you through local neighborhoods. Once you reach the base of the hill, there will be a path leading up to the palace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be steep.
