Getting There

    If you are traveling by car from Leh, start on NH1D towards Khardungla Pass. Continue straight for about 80 kilometers until you reach the junction at Diskit. At Diskit, take a right towards Turtuk. This road will take you alongside the Shyok River, providing stunning views. Keep following the road for about 60 kilometers until you reach Turtuk village. The Shyok River runs parallel to the road, and you can stop at various points to enjoy the scenery. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for high-altitude travel and check road conditions before you set off.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach the Shyok River via public transportation, take a shared taxi or bus from Leh to Nubra Valley. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours. You will be dropped off at Diskit. From Diskit, you can hire a local taxi to Turtuk. The local taxi ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, and it will take you along the banks of the Shyok River.
