Car
If you are driving to Sambú Darien from the city of La Palma, take the Pan-American Highway (Route 1) heading southeast. Follow the signs for Yaviza and continue for approximately 70 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Tucutí. Turn right onto the road towards Tucutí and follow it for about 15 kilometers. You will pass through small villages; keep an eye out for local signs indicating direction. Sambú Darien is located at coordinates 7.986452, -77.829076, which is marked as X5PC+H9M. Parking is available near the site, but be aware that some areas may be unpaved.
Public Transportation
To reach Sambú Darien using public transportation, start in La Palma and take a bus towards Yaviza. Buses leave regularly from the main terminal; the fare is approximately $3. Once you reach Yaviza, you will need to find a local taxi or shared taxi (called 'colectivo') that can take you to Tucutí. The cost for this leg of the journey is around $5-10, depending on the number of passengers. Inform the driver that you would like to visit Sambú Darien, and they will drop you off at the closest point to the location, which is at X5PC+H9M.
Walking/Local Transport
If you are already in Tucutí, you can reach Sambú Darien on foot or by using a local motorcycle taxi (mototaxi). The walking distance is about 2 kilometers from the center of Tucutí, which will take roughly 25-30 minutes. Alternatively, you can hire a mototaxi; the fare is around $1-2. Just tell the driver you want to go to Sambú Darien, and they will know the place.
