Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, such as San Félix. Head east on the Pan-American Highway (Route 1) until you reach the turn-off for the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca. The road is fairly well marked. Once you turn off, follow the signs toward Cerro Gavilan. The road may become less developed, so proceed with caution. Look out for local signs indicating the direction to Cerro Gavilan as you get closer. • Public Transportation

Once you arrive in San Félix, look for a bus or 'colectivo' (shared taxi) heading to the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca. The fare for this leg is typically around $2 to $5. Upon reaching the Comarca, you may need to negotiate a ride with a local taxi to take you to Cerro Gavilan. Expect to pay around $10 to $15 for this taxi ride.
