From the center of Portobelo, head south on Calle 1 until you reach the intersection with Calle 2. Turn left onto Calle 2 and continue walking until you reach the main road leading out of Portobelo. Follow this road for about 3 km until you see signs for Gamboa. At the fork, keep right towards Gamboa and continue walking for another 2 km until you arrive at the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve entrance on Goethals Blvd.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Portobelo and start from the main square. Ride south on Calle 1, then turn left onto Calle 2. After about 1 km, you will reach the main road. Take a right and follow the road for approximately 5 km until you see signs for Gamboa. Stay on the main road until you reach Goethals Blvd where you will find the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve entrance.
