Car
From the city of Port Moresby, head west on the Poreporena Freeway and continue towards the Hiritano Highway. Follow the highway until you reach the turnoff to the Southern Highlands Province. Drive through the town of Mendi, and then continue on the road leading to Imbonggu. Upon reaching Imbonggu, look for signs directing you to the Lau Woods Basecamp. The basecamp is located near the old logging site, approximately 10 kilometers from the center of Imbonggu. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as some roads may be unsealed.

Take a bus from Port Moresby to Mendi. Buses leave regularly throughout the day from the main bus station. The journey can take several hours, so it's advisable to start early. Once you arrive in Mendi, look for local transport options or shared taxis that can take you to Imbonggu. It's important to confirm with the driver that they know the way to Lau Woods Basecamp, as some may not be familiar with the old logging site. The cost for the bus fare can vary, generally around PGK 50-70 per person.
