Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Goroka city. From Goroka, take the Highlands Highway (also known as the Hiritano Highway) towards Mount Wilhelm. Continue driving for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the Wabo Bridge. After crossing the bridge, take the left turn onto the road leading towards Lapegu Forestry Station. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the forestry station. Be cautious of road conditions, as they can vary.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Goroka to Mount Wilhelm. Buses leave from the main bus station in Goroka. Inform the driver you are heading to Lapegu Forestry Station. The ride takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Upon reaching the Wabo Bridge, request the driver to drop you off at the junction where you turn left towards Lapegu Forestry Station. From there, you may need to walk approximately 5 kilometers along the road to reach your destination.

If you find yourself at the Wabo Bridge on foot after taking public transportation, walk towards the left turn onto the road leading to Lapegu Forestry Station. It's about a 5-kilometer walk, so be prepared for a bit of a trek through beautiful scenery. Ensure you have water and appropriate footwear for the walk.
