Getting There

    If you're driving from Asunción, take Route 9 towards Villarrica. Continue on Route 9 until you reach the intersection with Route 3. Turn left onto Route 3 and continue straight until you reach the town of Borja. Once in Borja, follow signs for Isla Yvate. After reaching Isla Yvate, follow local signs to Salto Cristal. The drive takes approximately 6 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

    From Asunción, take a bus from the Terminal de Ómnibus to Villarrica. Once in Villarrica, you can catch a bus to Borja. Buses are available throughout the day. Upon arriving in Borja, there may be local taxis or moto-taxis available to take you to Isla Yvate and then to Salto Cristal.
