Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, you can navigate to Mount Tammany using GPS coordinates. Enter the following coordinates into your navigation system: Latitude 40.9679876, Longitude -75.1130788. If you're coming from the nearby town of Delaware Water Gap, head northwest on US-80 W for about 5 miles. Take exit 1 for PA-611 N toward Delaware Water Gap. Continue on PA-611 N for about 2 miles, then turn left onto Mountain Road. Follow Mountain Road until you reach the parking area for Mount Tammany Trailhead. Note that parking may incur a fee, typically around $5 per car.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a New Jersey Transit train to the Hackettstown station. From there, you can arrange for a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to take you to Mount Tammany. The distance from Hackettstown to Mount Tammany is about 15 miles, and rideshare fares may vary but typically range from $20 to $30. Alternatively, you could take Bus 880 from Hackettstown to the Delaware Water Gap. However, be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited.

• Hiking

  If you are already in the vicinity and prefer to hike, you can access the Mount Tammany Trail from the parking area. The trailhead is well-marked and begins with a steep ascent.
