Travel Guide to Gettysburg Beyond the Battle Museum

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head east on Taneytown Road (US-15) from the center of Gettysburg Battlefield. Continue for about 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Biglerville Road (PA-34) and continue for approximately 0.5 miles. The Gettysburg Beyond the Battle Museum will be on your right at 625 Biglerville Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325. There is free parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, you can take the Gettysburg Trolley, which operates during the tourist season. Board the trolley at any designated stop in Gettysburg Battlefield. Make sure to confirm the route with the driver, as the trolley has specific stops. Ask the driver to drop you off near the intersection of Biglerville Road and US-15. From there, it is a short walk (about 0.2 miles) to the museum. Follow Biglerville Road south until you reach the museum at 625 Biglerville Rd.

• Biking

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Gettysburg. Start from the center of Gettysburg Battlefield, heading east on Taneytown Road (US-15) for about 1.5 miles. Then, turn left onto Biglerville Road (PA-34) and ride for another 0.5 miles until you reach the museum at 625 Biglerville Rd. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules.

• Walking

  If you are within walking distance of the Gettysburg Battlefield, you can walk to the museum. From the center of the battlefield, head east on Taneytown Road (US-15). After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Biglerville Road (PA-34) and walk for another 0.5 miles. The museum is located on your right at 625 Biglerville Rd. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as this is about a 2-mile walk.
