If you are traveling by car, start from the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center located at 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Head northwest on Baltimore Pike (US-15) for about 0.5 miles. Continue straight onto Steinwehr Ave for 1 mile, then turn left onto Taneytown Road (PA-134). After about 0.7 miles, turn right onto Buford Avenue. Follow Buford Avenue for about 0.3 miles until you reach the Major General John Buford Monument, which will be on your left at the intersection with Reynolds Ave. There is generally free parking available in the vicinity.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take the Gettysburg Shuttle, which operates regularly throughout the day. Board the shuttle at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at the stop nearest to the Major General John Buford Monument. The shuttle will drop you off on Taneytown Road, from which you can walk approximately 0.3 miles to the monument. Please note that the shuttle fare is around $5 per person for a day pass.

Start at the cemetery entrance on Baltimore Street and head west on Baltimore Street until it intersects with Taneytown Road. Turn left onto Taneytown Road and walk for about 0.5 miles. You will then turn right onto Buford Avenue, and the Major General John Buford Monument will be located on your left, just a short walk from the intersection.
