Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from any point in Laurel Highlands and make your way to US-40 E (National Pike). Follow US-40 E for approximately 10 miles until you reach the intersection with PA-381 S. Turn right onto PA-381 S and continue for about 5 miles. You will see signs for Ohiopyle State Park. Continue straight until you reach the park entrance at 124 Main St, Ohiopyle, PA 15470. Parking is available in designated areas within the park, which may incur a small fee, typically around $5 for the day.

  Public transportation options are limited in this rural area, but you can take a bus from nearby towns. Check with local transit services for bus routes that may connect to the Ohiopyle area, as schedules vary. If you are coming from Pittsburgh, the Greyhound bus service may have routes to Connellsville, which is the closest major town. From Connellsville, you would need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining 15 miles to Ohiopyle State Park, which can cost between $30 to $50 depending on the service.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling is a popular option. If you are staying in nearby towns like Confluence or Ohiopyle, you can bike to the park. Use the Great Allegheny Passage, a scenic trail that connects the surrounding areas to Ohiopyle State Park.
