Car
If you are driving from the town of Ligonier, head east on Route 30 for about 8 miles. Turn left onto Route 711 South and continue for approximately 5 miles. You will then see signs for Roaring Run Natural Area; turn right onto Roaring Run Road. Follow this road until you reach the parking area at Roaring Run Natural Area. Please note that there are no parking fees for the natural area.
Car
From the city of Greensburg, take Route 119 South for about 16 miles until you reach Route 711. Turn left onto Route 711 North and follow it for approximately 7 miles. Look for signs indicating Roaring Run Natural Area, then turn left onto Roaring Run Road. Continue to the parking area. There are no parking fees.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus to the nearest city with service to the Laurel Highlands, such as Greensburg. From Greensburg, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Roaring Run Natural Area, as public transit does not service the area directly. The taxi ride from Greensburg to Roaring Run Natural Area is approximately 20 miles and may cost between $30 to $50 depending on the service.
