From Northern Tier, head southeast on US-6 E towards Towanda. Continue on US-6 E until you reach the junction with I-476 South (Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike). Take I-476 South for about 45 miles until you reach I-76 East (the Schuylkill Expressway). Merge onto I-76 E and follow it for approximately 12 miles. Take exit 39 for US-30 E toward Philadelphia. Merge onto US-30 E, which will lead you directly into the heart of Philadelphia. Once in Philadelphia, follow signs for Independence Hall and the historic district. Look for parking options in the area, as street parking can be limited. Expect parking fees to range from $10 to $20.

Public Transportation
Start by taking a bus from Northern Tier to Scranton. You can check the local bus schedules for routes that connect to Scranton. Once you arrive in Scranton, transfer to the Martz Trailways bus service to Philadelphia. The bus ride will take about 2 hours and typically costs around $30 one way. Once you arrive in Philadelphia, you can take the SEPTA subway from the bus terminal. Board the Market-Frankford Line towards 69th Street Terminal and get off at 15th Street Station. From there, it is a short walk to Independence National Historical Park. Follow signs for Independence Hall, which is prominently marked.
