Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Point State Park, start at the park entrance. Walk towards the Fort Pitt Museum located at 601 Commonwealth Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. From the museum, exit towards the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, which runs along the river. Follow the trail heading north along the Monongahela River. After about 0.5 miles, you will arrive at Fort Duquesne, which is located along the trail. Look for the signs directing you to the historical site.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    If you are at the Market Square, locate the nearest bus stop. Take the Port Authority bus number 1 or 2 (East Busway). Ride for 3 stops and get off at the 'Gateway Center' stop. From there, walk towards the riverfront and access the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Walk along the trail heading north for about 0.3 miles until you reach Fort Duquesne.

  • Public Transit (Light Rail)

    If you are near the Steel Plaza Station, take the Light Rail (T) towards the North Side. Get off at the 'Gateway Center' station. Once you exit, walk towards the river and access the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Walk north along the trail for approximately 0.3 miles to reach Fort Duquesne.
